Consider these 5 “W”s before you embark on your social media campaign.
1. What are your goals?
Goals tell you where you should be going and what you ultimately hope to achieve in your marketing campaign. When it comes to social media marketing campaign, it usually consists of one or more of the following:
- Awareness creation.
- Lead generation.
- Sales conversion.
2. Who is your audience?
The target of your campaign is critical. There is no point in spending dollars sending messages and reaching out to people who will not be interesting in consuming your product or services. Knowing who your potential customers can help you achieve your campaign goals and objectives much more efficiently.
3. Which social media platform?
Part of knowing your target audience is being aware of the platform that would be most useful in reaching out to them. IF you focus your campaign efforts and dollars on the right platform, you will see results even more quickly.
4. What strategy should you apply?
A well-planned execution is essential. The saying “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!” applies here. A well thought out plan gives you a solid foundation and lays a clear path to success. You will have a peace of mind and more room to take care of exceptions that occur during the execution.
5. What is the success criteria?
Having a precise definition of your success criteria for every stage of your plan will help you better understand how well your campaign is performing. You will then know when intervention is required and what kind of tweaks you need to make to the plan.
